In July 2012, Blue House Nursery & International Preschool unveiled our first Infant & Toddler Atelier.
Blue House Nursery & International Preschool, our parent organisation, offers a drop-off Nursery Programme for children from 18 months to 3 years old, and a Preschool and Kindergarten Programme for children 3 to 6 years old.
We felt a pressing need to provide a meaningful and creative space for parents with children under 3, who were largely under-catered for in Singapore.
Our first Infant & Toddler Atelier at our Turf City campus was designed in great detail with plenty of natural light, warm colour tones and specific equipment and materials flown direct from Reggio Emilia in Italy, the heartland of the approach that inspires our pedagogy.
We created a series of provocative and unique programmes providing an opportunity for young children to further explore light, space, texture, sound and a vast range of sensory experiences.
The Infant & Toddler Atelier became an important part of the Blue House story, providing an experience never seen before in Singapore. The Infant & Toddler Ateliers are completely unique in Singapore and are seen as an example of best practice and a source of inspiration for the wider early years education industry.
In 2015, we opened our second Infant & Toddler Atelier in UE Square, a light filled space pushing the boundaries of design to offer yet another level of new experiences to families and to expand our offering and locations further across the Singapore community.
The Blue House Nursery & International Preschool and Infant & Toddler Ateliers remain a family run business, and we are proud to have established ourselves with leading Reggio Emilia Inspired environments, with a reputation amongst families and fellow educators for creating a unique, warm and welcoming environment, and a pedagogy that is internationally acclaimed and leading the development of the early years industry in Singapore.
